Recycling
In 2019, a new Berkeley County facility changed the way the county recycles.
The County’s new, state-of-the-art recycling facility is now processing all waste in Berkeley County. The facility, which is run by RePower South, automatically separates recyclable material from the trash. Trash that cannot be recycled will be taken to the county landfill.
Berkeley County’s contract with Republic Services, which Goose Creek residents previously could pay to pick up recycled goods, was not be renewed after Aug. 31, 2019, as the County fully transitioned to RePower South for its recycling program.
