House Watch Program

Citizens are invited to call (843) 572-4300 to request that the Police Department watch their house while they are out of town, or fill out an online request form. Police officers and trained civilian staff will make physical checks of the property on a regular, but random, basis while residents are absent.

The officer or staff member will check doors and windows for evidence of break-ins, vandalism, or trespassing. Additionally, after the resident returns home, they will receive a letter from the police chief informing them of the number of times the house was checked.
