SCDOT set to begin St. James Avenue median construction Dec. 14
Dec 10 2020
The City has received a starting date of Monday, Dec. 14 from the South Carolina Department of Transportation regarding the SCDOT safety improvements on St. James Avenue. The project will see the construction of a raised concrete median added to a portion of St. James Avenue. The median is being added to decrease the number of traffic accidents on that stretch of highway. Raised medians will be installed on St. James Avenue from Old Moncks Corner Road to the Hwy. 52 intersection. The City is expecting lane closures to occur once the project begins on Dec. 14, and we’ll release any details from SCDOT as we receive them.
In addition to increased safety, the project's goal is also to reduce congestion.
