Portion of Montague Plantation Road set for temporary closure

The City has been notified that an extended road closure on Montague Plantation Road at Hwy. 52 will take place from June 3 to Aug. 11. The closure will allow CSX to complete work associated with the rail crossing as part of Phase 2 of Berkeley County’s ongoing improvements to Henry Brown Blvd.
According to a notification given to us by the construction company handling the project, in order for a number of improvements to be made – including CSX rail upgrades and other road-widening and traffic signal work – the road closure will extend on Montague Plantation Road from U.S. 52 to the Trident Baptist Church driveway (0.1 mile east of U.S. 52), including the Dennis Drive intersection. Traffic will be detoured via Liberty Hall Road. Signs will be in place that will guide motorists.
