New fire engine arrives at GCFD
Apr 17 2024
Mayor Habib, City Councilmembers, City staff and Goose Creek residents attended a ceremony at the GCFD Headquarters Station on April 16 to welcome the City of Goose Creek Fire Department’s new truck, an E-ONE Cyclone Combination Rescue.
“I could not be more proud of this Department under Chief Nixon’s leadership,” Mayor Habib said. “I wish this machine could sit in the bay and never have to leave, but I am thankful that you have it and that you’ll be able to use it to protect and serve the people who live in our City.”
Father Noly Berjuega of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church said a blessing for the new truck, before firefighters performed the traditional fire truck push-in to the station bay.
Chief Nixon told the gathering that the truck will serve the community for many years, and is an important addition. The truck is the first of four apparatus scheduled to be delivered to the GCFD in 2024.
Thanks to Chief Nixon and all of our courageous Firefighters, Paramedics & EMTs for all you do to keep us safe!
