Thursday Update:

The Goose Creek Fire Department is sending trucks out Thursday morning to every neighborhood to look for & report any storm damage.

Residential trash pickup will not take place Thursday; Thursday’s trash route will be picked up on Friday.

Wednesday Update:

Please report any damage caused by the storm by filling out this online form.  This form is for the City's post-storm information; if you experience an emergency during the storm, please call 911. The Goose Creek Police Department's non-emergency number is (843) 572-4300.

A Tropical Storm Warning is in effect for Charleston and Berkeley County, as Hurricane Idalia is expected to bring heavy wind and rain to the Lowcountry. Idalia is expected to be a tropical storm or possibly a Category 1 Hurricane as it passes the South Carolina coast late Wednesday and early Thursday.

The City's Public Works Department has lowered the level of our lakes and ponds in anticipation of heavy rainfall, and crews are continuing to check drainage ducts and ditches.

Sand is available for pickup at the Goose Creek Fire Department Headquarters Station, and an additional delivery of both sand and bags is expected Wednesday morning.

Please secure any loose items around your home in anticipation of wind gusts that are expected to begin late Wednesday afternoon.

Reminder: Wednesday's residential trash pickup will take place as usual; there is no pickup on Thursday, and Thursday's trash routes will be picked up Friday.

Tuesday, 5:25pm Update:

City offices will close at 2pm on Wednesday, and will be closed all day Thursday. Municipal Court sessions scheduled for 1pm and 3pm on Wednesday will be postponed and rescheduled, and all court sessions on Thursday will be rescheduled. City offices will reopen with normal hours on Friday.

Residential trash will not be picked up on Thursday. If your trash pickup day is Thursday, your trash will instead be picked up on Friday. For safety reasons and because of the potential for wind gusts, please DO NOT leave a trash container out on Thursday. Wednesday’s residential trash pickup will take place as usual on Wednesday.

Crowfield Golf Club will close at 4pm on Wednesday, and will remain closed all day on Thursday. The Golf Club will announce a reopening schedule on Thursday.

Sand remains available for pickup at the Goose Creek Fire Department Headquarters Station at 201 Button Hall Avenue. The location was out of bags at 5:15pm Tuesday; more bags were expected to be delivered at 6pm Tuesday, and additional delivery is set for early Thursday morning.

Tuesday, 1pm Update: A Tropical Storm Watch is in effect for the Lowcountry, and the effects of Idalia -- now a Category 1 Hurricane -- are expected to be felt in the Lowcountry on Wednesday. 

Additional sand has been delivered to the Goose Creek Fire Department Headquarters Station, and is available for pickup.

Tuesday, 5:23pm Update:  Sand is now available for pickup at the City of Goose Creek Fire Department Headquarters Station (201 Button Hall Avenue). Please bring your own shovel if possible, and please limit the number of bags to 10. Thank you!

Tuesday 9am:

City officials are closely monitoring Tropical Storm Idalia, which is expected to bring tropical storm conditions to the area beginning Tuesday. Wind gusts and heavy rains are possible.  We will update this story as new information is available, and we encourage everyone to monitor the local news stations for the latest updates.
