City of Goose Creek

The Goose Creek Community Center’s spotlight on local artists is continuing in July.

The paintings of Leena Karambelkar and Belle Anderson are on display throughout the month. The artists are the center’s Artists of the Month for July.

“For me, painting is a journey through known and unknown pathways leading to a beautiful destination of aesthetic pleasure,” Karambelkar said in a biography that accompanies the display. She called her paintings “a tribute to the beauty of Cypress Gardens.”

Anderson’s paintings include landscapes, and her favorite mediums are alcohol ink and oil paint.

She said that she “discovered a passion for art after retirement,” and her work has been recognized in local and national competitions.
