City honors young golfing standout Jamen Sanders

Mayor Habib honored Northwood Academy student and golfing standout Jamen Sanders at the Aug. 13 City Council meeting. The Mayor officially proclaimed that Aug. 14 is Jamen Sanders Day in Goose Creek.
Jamen, a rising junior, won the SCISA 4A State Championship as an individual earlier this year, and is currently ranked 27th in the State of South Carolina. The state title capped an incredible few months for Jamen, who finished first on the All-Region team, first place in the Upstate Classic, and ninth in the U.S. Kids Golf World’s competition in July.
Mayor Habib -- who has been defeated by the young golfer on multiple occasions at Crowfield Golf Club -- praised Jamen’s hard work and dedication, and thanked him for representing Goose Creek with class and sportsmanship.
