Jul 30 2024
A new era in Goose Creek begins in September when the 800-seat Joseph S. Daning Amphitheater opens to the public.
The City of Goose Creek will kick off its Grand Opening Series on Friday, Sept. 6, with Better than Ezra and TONIC. The rock bands take the stage at 6pm as the first of a variety of acts over the fall months. The concert is free to the public, but tickets are required for entry.
Tickets for the Sept. 6 show will be available on Friday, Aug. 2, at 11am. A maximum of four tickets per registration can be selected on EventBrite. Click here to set a reminder for when tickets become available.
The Grand Opening Series continues on Oct. 5 and Nov. 2. Show information for those dates will be announced soon.
The new venue behind Goose Creek City Hall includes a food truck court, eat-in pavilion, public restroom facility, lakeside views, and more. With a focus on arts and entertainment, the Amphitheater will be available for rent for special events beginning in 2025.
The Daning Amphitheater is named after Rep. Joseph S. Daning, who was instrumental in securing state funding for the structure. Rep. Daning was a member of the S.C. House of Representatives from 2008-2023, and a member of Goose Creek City Council from 1978 to 1986, and again from 1992 to 2008.
The Middleton Group, Trident Construction, C Baker Engineering, LLC, Outdoor Spatial Design, LLC, Hensley & Goerling Consulting Engineers, and Cranston Engineering Group were part of the construction team that made the Amphitheater a reality.
